We are seeking two Whakapiki Ake Māori Health Workforce Engagement Leaders (Kaitaunaki) to join our team at Te Kupenga Hauora Māori. This role will be integral to our Whakapiki Ake Project, aimed at developing the Māori health workforce.

Role Overview
As the Whakapiki Ake Māori Health Workforce Engagement Leader, you will play a key role in fostering Kaupapa Māori principles within the Whakapiki Ake Project. You will help develop and deliver events designed to address the cultural diversity of rangatahi and whānau, and address the existing barriers that prevent success in secondary and tertiary education. This role is the interface between secondary schools, rangatahi, whānau, and tertiary, supporting rangatahi through secondary education to consider and access a tertiary pathway towards a career in health.

Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will have a full, clean driver’s license, a tertiary qualification from a New Zealand university or Whare Wananga, and 2-4 years of experience working with Māori tauira/whānau/hapori/communities. They will also possess excellent organisational, planning, and project management skills, and have experience with event planning, coordination, and public speaking. Experience working with Māori secondary students and whānau, as well as tertiary education recruitment, would be advantageous.
